一年前於台南某花園取得的品種，葉子邊緣有小斑與缺角，葉面呈霧狀與綠色條紋，典型Ratana蝶類品系特徵，花苞紫紅花色，小苞階段即已展開，且苞片呈縮水般內縮與皺，與既有蝶類品種完全不同，是前所未見新變異品種，懷疑是常見斑葉紫紅花品種的變異種，可貴的是承襲其好照顧特性與豔麗花色。圖5是其返祖綠葉芽所開的正常花苞。

Interesting! Looks like you have a new cultivar from budsport! That original cultivar you attached is what we Malaysian refer as 'Blue Moon'. It's a interspecific hybrid ( most likely re-crossed of B x buttiana) and is a breakthrough in the colour strain of B x buttiana. Bright indigo red with a hint of blueness during young bracts and is away from normal crimson colour, closer to purple blue spectrum. So far similar colour can only be seen in B. glabra and B. spectabilis cultivars but not B x buttiana or other interspecific hybrid. Also, this particular variegated cultivar is especially robust in growth with strong striving habbit even after bad weather. It adores sun and heat in order to trully display its indigo bracts, if not all we see is just deep crimson bracts. With this new budsport you have, indeed a new addition to this already bewildering and confusing plant. But I must clarify 'Blue Moon' is a trade name used by the Thais and Malaysian. BSI might have given this cultivar a registered name for RHS record differently.
